One-man show traditional Japanese restaurant. Chef Shintaro is incredibly skilled and can handle multiple orders efficiently and surprisingly quick, from a relatively large menu, all by himself. Been there for years and no matter how full the restaurant is, their quality, freshness and reasonable prices remain consistent!

We came here on a weekday evening for dinner. The restaurant is operated by Japanese people. It looks small and homey but the food was so fresh and delicious. Service was excellent and food came quickly. This is like a hole in the wall type of restaurant and I will definitely come back again.

If you happen to be in the fishing village of Steveston in Richmond around lunch time, then check out the lunch specials at Shintaro Sushi Japanese Restaurant (3791 Bayview St, Richmond, BC V7E 3B6). I suggest their lunch sets because you get more bang for your buck. (I had the chicken karaage set). However, I highly recommend the lunch specials. We tried the stewed madai (seabream) head set, and it was fresh, savoury and very satisfying! Good to know: make reservations (to avoid long waits); lunch specials are in limited quantities; they don't accept parties bigger than four; they're only open Thursday to Sunday (11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. – 9 p.m.)

Wonderful father and son restaurant where the food is amazing. If you want a special experience with Japanese food, this is the place to go. I highly recommend.

My first time visited this Japanese restaurant. Surprisingly, the food , service and atmosphere are great and value for money. Chef choice Sashimis are fresh and delicious. I really enjoy the whole dining experience in this small but high quality restaurant. Recommend!

One of our favorite mom and pops sushi places in Richmond. Good quality ingredients with friendly service.

Very impressed! A gem restaurant for sure. Such careful detail to every aspect of everything served. Authentic Japanese restaurant that serves scrumptious artwork as food. Every dish tasted absolutely wow! Chirashi set sashimi was all high quality and fresh. Fish was so smooth and naturally sweet. They even brand their tamago egg. They have artfully cut eggplant as a side and their tempura was perfectly crisp on the outside and just right inside. An awesome 5 Star meal. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend this place. You gotta eat here!

This is a fantastic little neighbourhood spot. Sashimi is fresh and reasonably priced. The standout dish was the ika with fish roe and quail egg yolk. I would suggest a visit here if you live in Richmond.
